Carbon Steel Gaskets

RTJ gaskets can be made from a variety of materials, based on the type of application it is used in. One may choose oval or octagonal gaskets, the latter is preferable for better sealing. Among the most common of these is carbon steel, used to manufacture carbon steel gaskets. These gaskets can handle temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to 500 degrees Celsius. Common applications of a carbon steel metallic gasket are with mediums in the likes of alkalis or concentrated acids. These gaskets are manufactured following the API 6A and ASME B16.20 standards.
