The ANSI flanges are widely used in butt weld fittings for connecting two different sections of pipe together. Other than this, these flanges are also used to join pipe to an assembly like pressure vessel, valve or pump. The technique employed for joining flanges is bolting and sealing. At the final phase, gaskets are fixed to the piping system by threading or welding.
