Stainless Steel 310 pipe is a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel for high temperature applications such as heat treatment equipment and furnace parts. It contains 25% chromium and 20% nickel which make them highly corrosion and oxidation resistance. It is a lower carbon version and less prone to embrittlement and sensitisation in service.

Grade 310 stainless steel pipe suffers from thermal shock is not recommended for frequent liquid quenching. Due to its low magnetic permeability and toughness it is often used in cryogenic applications. It can be hardened by cold work, but it is rarely practiced.
